Glenmore Visitor Centre and Allt Mor Cafe

Community owned since 2024.

New beginnings for Glenmore…

In November 2024, Aviemore and Glenmore Community Trust (AGCT) took ownership of the Glenmore Visitor Centre and Café through a Community Asset Transfer. Our vision is to create a warm, welcoming space for locals and visitors alike — a place that tells the story of Glenmore, celebrates the landscape and local heritage, and strengthens community connections.

Located in the Glenmore Forest Park we are the perfect place to stop off after or before a Hike, Bike, Ski or Run, with family and friends and we hope you will enjoy our new facilities.

So why not come up and see what we have achieved already.

Opening hours and facilities can be found below.

  • Cafe

Recently refurbished, the on site Allt Mor Cafe offers Coffee, Cake, Breakfast Rolls and Lunches in a friendly and warm environment. Open 7 Days.

  • Visitor Centre

Our visitor will be a welcoming place for all to learn about Glenmore. We are currently refurbishing the exhibition space to be ready for mid 2025.

  • Bike Friendly

We have added a bike tool station, dedicated bike parking, eBike charging and information on local routes to the Centre.

  • Community

Our Cafe and Centre celebrates the local community and supporters who have brought our vision to life.

Our Facilities

  • Car Parking available on site

  • Toilets and disabled toilets are located in our cafe.

  • Bosch eBike chargers available within the cafe.

  • We have disabled access and toilets within the centre.

  • We welcome dogs inside, and also have lots of outdoor seating too.

  • We have free WIFI and real time travel information on the local bus services displayed in the centre.

  • We are a 6 mile drive from Aviemore, or a 45 minute off road cycle using the Old Logging Way family friendly trail.

The number 30 (Aviemore Adventurer Bus) also stops at the foot of our Centre Car Park.

Visited a few times while on holiday. The cafe has been totally refurbished and looking great. The staff were really friendly. Homemade soup and cakes delicious. What’s not to like. All the best to this brilliant community project.

Things to do…

Our Journey

In November 2024, Aviemore and Glenmore Community Trust purchased the Glenmore Visitor Centre through a Community Asset Transfer, supported by a loan from Social Investment Scotland. It marks the beginning of a new chapter — from 100 years of public ownership to a future shaped by the community ownership.

Our early refurbishment work was made possible thanks to a combination of public and community support. We’re grateful to the individuals, families, and local businesses who backed our crowdfunder, as well as to Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Cairngorms National Park Authority, and The Highland Council, whose funding has helped us improve facilities and create a more welcoming, sustainable space.
